Privacy Policy

Last updated 13 September 2026

Careetra is operated by Origin Collective Limited, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 16566341, with its registered office at 124–128 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX. This policy explains what information Careetra handles and how.

Who is responsible for your data

Origin Collective Limited is the data controller for the personal data processed through Careetra. You can reach us at privacy@origincollective.group or at the registered office above.

Careetra is built to be private by default. You create an account with an email address and password, and the career information you enter is stored against that account on our servers so it follows you across devices. We never sell it, never use it for advertising, and never share it with third parties.

What we store for your account

  • Applications: company, role, location, date applied, channel, resume version, status history, and notes.
  • Current job: title, company, location, seniority, start date, base salary, bonus, and equity notes.

Account: your email address and an encrypted password, handled by our authentication provider. This information is stored in a private record that only your signed-in account can read. Earlier versions of Careetra kept this data in your browser under the keys applytrack.v1 and applytrack.job.v1; if that data is still present, we offer a one-time import into your account. You can export everything as CSV or JSON at any time, and deleting your account removes all of it permanently after a 30-day recovery period (see “Deleting your account” below).

What we do process

  • Subscriptions: if you upgrade to Career Pro, we store your account identifier together with your Stripe customer and subscription reference, plan, status, and billing period, so that paid features can be unlocked. We do not store card details.
  • Payments: card details are collected and processed entirely by Stripe, our payment processor, under its own privacy policy. We never see or store your card number.

Market salary data

Salary comparisons are generated from a built-in reference dataset. Your own salary figures are used only to draw those comparisons for you — they are never shared with or sold to any third party. Market figures are modelled estimates, not verified offer data.

Why we are allowed to process it

  • Performance of a contract: creating and running your account, storing your career data, and providing Career Pro when you subscribe.
  • Legitimate interests: keeping the service secure, preventing abuse, fixing faults, and sending essential service messages about your account or billing.
  • Legal obligation: keeping payment, invoicing and tax records for as long as the law requires.
  • Consent: where you opt in to optional email, which you can withdraw at any time from the email preferences link in any such message.

How long we keep it

  • Account and career data: kept while your account is open. After you request deletion it is recoverable for 30 days, then permanently erased.
  • Subscription records: kept while the subscription is active and for the period required for accounting and tax purposes afterwards.
  • Email delivery logs: kept for a limited operational period so we can confirm that account and billing messages were delivered.

Who else processes your data

We use a small number of service providers who process data strictly on our instructions: our hosting and database provider (application hosting, authentication and data storage), Stripe (payments, subscriptions and invoicing) and our email delivery provider (account, billing and support email). We do not sell your data or share it for advertising. Some of these providers may process data outside the UK and EEA; where that happens it is covered by appropriate safeguards, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

Cookies and analytics

Careetra uses strictly necessary storage only. We set the technical cookies and browser storage required to keep you signed in and to keep your billing status working, and nothing else. We do not run advertising trackers, analytics profiling or marketing cookies. Because only strictly necessary storage is used, no cookie consent banner is shown.

Your rights

Under the UK GDPR and equivalent EU law you have the right to access your data, correct it, erase it, restrict or object to processing, and receive a portable copy. You can access and export your data from inside the app, correct it at any time, and erase it entirely by deleting your account in Account settings. You may also contact us at the address below.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, please contact us first at privacy@origincollective.group. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk, or to the data protection authority in your country of residence.

Origin Collective Limited is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office, registration number ZC240259.

Your choices

  • Export: you can export all your data at any time in CSV or JSON format.
  • Erase: delete your account from Account settings. It is kept recoverable for 30 days and then erased permanently.
  • Billing: to cancel your subscription, use the billing portal. To have your associated subscription record deleted after cancellation, contact us using the details below.

Deleting your account

When you request deletion from Account settings, we immediately cancel any active Career Pro subscription so no further payments are taken, and we mark your account for permanent deletion. Your data is retained but inaccessible to anyone else for a 30-day recovery period: if you sign in again during that time, you can restore the account and everything is kept. If you do not, your applications, current job record, account and login are permanently erased at the end of that period and cannot be recovered. Records we are legally required to keep, such as payment and invoicing records held by Stripe, are retained for as long as the law requires.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
